The United Democratic Party panel for the selection of candidates for chairpersons and mayors across the country except Banjul, has deferred proceeding until Saturday 17 February, party sources told The Standard.
Our source said the postponement had to with some difficult unfinished process in the KMC primaries.
However in the North Bank Region, the number of aspirants has been trimmed to only four. They are Landing Bojang of Lower Niumi, Jonkunda Barrow of Lower Baddibou, Momodou Marr of Jokadu and
Yaya Sanyang of Lower Baddibou.
According to the regional chairman Karamo Jadama, the primaries will be conducted by
20 elected delegates from each constituency who will gather at 11am on Saturday February 2018 to cast their votes to select candidates for the party to contest the chairmanship of Kerewan Area Council.
