Mr Karamo Jadama has been appointed the regional chairman of the UDP for the North Bank Region at a congress held in Kerewan.
According to a press release issued over the weekend, Mr Jadama was selected after four other aspirants withdrew their applications. All the 35 delegates from the seven constituencies in the region unanimously endorsed his election.
“All the 35 members present at the congress expressed their satisfaction at the appointment of Mr Jadama as the regional chairman and they all showed their appreciation for Mr Jadama’s performance during the past presidential and parliamentary elections as well,” the release signed by Momodou Marr of Jokadu and Amad Sarr of Lower Niumi stated.
It added: “The other elected officers promised to work hand-in-glove under the leadership of their newly elected regional chairman for the interest of The Gambia and the UDP under the able leadership of the party leader, Alhaji Ousainou Darboe, for him to achieve his goal in the advancement of the UDP and The Gambia in general.”
Amad Sarr from Lower Niumi is the vice chairman; Momodou Marr from Jokadu is secretary; John Sabally from Sabach Sanjal is treasurer; FaKebba Senghore from Upper Niumi is auditor; Kumba Jallow from Upper Baddibu is regional chairwoman; Kebba Njie from Upper Niumi is regional youth mobiliser; and Jainaba Marong from Upper Baddibu is female youth mobiliser.
