Momodou Turo Darboe, through his Vision Development Foundation (VDF), recently gave out a cheque of D1, 610, 431.00M to various institutions and needy individuals. The presentation of the cheque was part of his annual support to the Christian community during festivities marking Christmas. The presentation was presided over by CEO, Momodou Turo Darboe, at the VDF headquarters in Churchill’s Town. The VDF has for the past 26 years distributed millions of dalasi to communities across the country in support of the poor. Saihou Fofana, public relations manager of VDF, said the VDF under the leadership of Turo Darboe has given equal value to all individuals, irrespective of political or religious differences. He said: “We are very proud that other NGOs are also emulating what we are doing today. It was not easy from the start, but thanks to the commitment of our able CEO who took it upon himself to single handedly support the foundation we are able to come this far and we want to say thank you to him and his family.” Ousman Yabo, the executive director of Tango said: “We want more Turo Darboes in this country to end poverty. We have many people in this country who have more than what they need but are not coming forward to help.” Along with the beneficiaries, he thanked VDF for the gesture. The beneficiaries are: The Gambia College; the University of The Gambia; Grace Institute; Marina International School; GTTI; Insight Training Centre; International Community College; Essau Lower Basic School; The Gambia Christian Council; Brikama Jalanban Mosque; Ekun Baba Odeh Hunting Society; Kondong Mansasansa Village; Kora FM; Gambian Embassy – Dakar and 5 disaster victims including two people for overseas treatment.]]>
