Victoria Fye wins ‘gospel splash’ talent competition

Victoria Fye, grooming young artist in gospel music, has recently won the grand finale of the talent hunt ‘gospel splash season 2 held live on GRTS TV.
The contest, which lasted for eight weeks, brought together 30 contestants.
As winner of the contest, Victoria secured a single recording deal outside The Gambia.
Hannah Donkor emerged runner-up and was awarded an acoustic guitar while Emmanuel Coker finished third and therefore received a smart phone.

Speaking to reporters shortly after the finale, Udo Kalusian, initiator of the program, said the program was meant to raise and discover talents on the gospel scene.
He added that they believe music is much more than just entertainment but a major tool in inspiring young minds, molding perception and reshaping paradigms for a better nation building.
He described gospel music as influential which is why they focused on gospel music contest.
He said the main purpose of the event was to raise new upcoming gospel artists with professionalism.
“We want to raise people who could be better than us,” he stated, saying it was a joy to see people do amazing things and be better.

He said they hope to make the event bigger and better next year.
According to him, they want everyone to be the best version of themselves, adding that Victoria has an opportunity to record a song with professionalism.

Winner of the contest, Victoria Fye, said she was surprised but honored being the winner.
She added that this would pave the way for her. She expressed gratitude to God for being there for her.
“It is an honor to have the opportunity to be able to record a single outside The Gambia because I know it will be of high quality,” she added, saying “expect the best from me in future.”
