Police in West Coast region over the weekend arrested Wagan Senghore, 25, an employee of Ahmed Trading/Arezki accused of breaking into the Trust Bank Airport Branch and stealing about D600, 000.
According to police sources, successful analysis of fingerprints and other relevant evidence from the scene of crime led to the identification of the suspect and his immediate arrest.
Further investigations revealed the suspect stole a total of D599,700 from the bank.
The suspect who was arrested at Amdalai with D52, 800 later led investigators to his house at Brikama Manduar where he stashed some D489, 600 being part of money stolen from the bank. Police said they have now recovered a total of D558, 200 of the stolen amount.
The suspect is currently helping police with investigations to recover the balance of the stolen money.
