Alpha Gambia, a charitable organisation based in the United Kingdom, has recently donated some items to the people of Jabang Village as Christmas and New Year gifts.
The items donated included rice, 30 bags of used clothes, shoes, hand-bags and some food commodities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Merrily Burker and Joel Burke, the founders of Alpha Gambia, gave a brief overview of the organization and its activities.

Merrily Burker said: “My husband and I came on a holiday in 2006 and we went on a tour around the island. We also visited some schools in the country. During our visit to schools, there was a school we came across which was in a bad state as a result of poverty. This really touched us.
“When we returned to UK we decided to do something to help so we started by going around and asking our friends and families to donate clothes and some educational materials.”
