Another poppycock corruption story about President Barrow and Hon. Hamat Bah

Another poppycock corruption story about President Barrow and Hon. Hamat Bah

Barely a month ago, Walf TV of Senegal in a program produced in Wolof and later discovered to have been financed by active members of one of the opposition parties in The Gambia, fabricated a very bias and fallacious story about how Ousainu Darboe of the UDP is certainly going to become the next president of The Gambia in the 2021 general election. They blatantly lied about how Darboe was illegally arrested and imprisoned in 2016 by Jammeh solely to prevent him from contesting the presidential election which culminated in the UDP leader at the Mile Two Central Prison to handpick Barrow as his party-leader successor to challenge and won Jammeh in that election. They added that Darboe was eventually betrayed by Barrow for not complying with the coalition party agreement that required him to step-down after three years in office compelling him to resign from his vice presidential position and will by every indication oust Barrow in the 2021 election. The whole story left me baffled over why the Senegalese government or people should allow such a nonsensical TV station and their half-baked reporters to operate there.

Then, as one may recall, last week another foolish Senegalese hustler Baba Aidara came up with yet another absurd story about a 30,000 hectares of Gambian land that he said was sold by the Barrow government to a Romanian ex-convict with no evidence to corroborate his story. Gambian reporters, quick to spread prejudicial stories targeting government officials and their programmes, failed to carry the response of the Minister of Information when they asked for clarifications and he adequately dismissed the story as false.

I have extensively written and made audios about both the Walf TV and Baba Aidara’s false stories still accessible on my Facebook page and my WhatsApp-audio-distribution page.

However, with the hope that we are never going to hear from these Senegalese misfits and their unethical stories of lying-for-quick cash, another fictitious story emerged yesterday [Monday] misleading their readers about President Adama Barrow and Tourism Minister Honourable Hamat Bah purchasing land and other facilities in Senegal in excess of $227,000.00 for their private use.

But instead of any proof of the so-called Pape Ali and his assertions, whoever wrote and forwarded the story reminds me of those opposition-forces protagonists ostensibly using the name of Pape Ali whom he touts as the most respected “investigative journalist in Senegal” who had in the past uncovered corrupt practices of  Karim Wade and Macky Sall.

Nevertheless, in all fairness, I still can’t definitively confirm whether such a laughable story originated from any Pape Ali of Senegal since the one trending on social media was authored by someone else who, out of the numerous common names in Senegal, never told us the last name of this particular Pape Ali, the media house he works for or whether he is a freelancer.

So unless we get all these hazy issues clarified about the story and the person behind it, I think we should save our time and energy and just dismiss it as another malicious propaganda from another useless jackass.
