A boat believed to have started its journey in Bakau, carrying 100 people reported in The Standard last week, is said to have arrived on Spain’s Canary Island.
“Everyone arrived safely but they are being quarantined by Spanish authorities as I am speaking to you,” an anonymous source whose brother is on the trip, told The Standard.

He said all those people who paid to be on the trip could not fit in the boat, disclosing that plans for another trip are already in high gear.
When contacted on this development, Immigration PRO chief superintendent Mamanding Dibba, said his office is not aware of these trips.
“But I will share this information with my colleagues. Thank you,” he said.
