Bakau market gets cleansing materials

The Bakau Market Committee on Monday received five dustbins courtesy of the Councilor of Old Bakau and Cape Point ward Abdoulie Jallow through the support of National Environment Agency geared towards keeping the market clean and healthy.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the National Assembly Member for Bakau Assan Touray said one of the main objectives of giving the dustbins is to keep the market clean and hygienic.
Abdoulie Jallow, Councillor, said cleaning the market contributes significantly to the development of the tourism industry, particularly now that the tourist season has started.

About the donation of the cleansing materials, he said it is an immense contribution and thanked NEA’s efforts in maintaining a healthy and clean environment.

Jallow advised the vendors to keep the market always clean and avoid throwing refuses inside the market.
He thanked his ward committee, NEA, for their contribution towards the development of the ward.
Receiving the materials on behalf of the market committee, Alagie Sanyang, chairman, commended the donors.
