The Bakoteh youth development association recently donated 35 bags of sugar to the natives of the village in a ceremony held at the Bantaba Mosque.
The bags of sugar, which were immediately distributed among the mosques in the village, were bankrolled by the natives of Bakoteh residing in the diaspora as part of their contribution towards the development of the village.

Speaking at the presentation, the Chairman of the Bakoteh Central Development Association, Yusupha Sanyang said the Bakoteh youth development association was formed barely few months ago with the main purpose of supporting the village development activities.
He said the association through their members residing in the diaspora gives D85, 000 to villagers to mark their last Gamo.

“This donation of bags of sugar is just the beginning of more humanitarian gestures that would follow in the future from the association. They have shown their commitment towards supporting the village whenever the need arises,” he said.
He called on the young people to keep up the momentum, saying there is nothing nobler than giving back to your community.
