Reliably sources have informed The Standard that a newborn baby has been found alive after it was wrapped in a small bag and reportedly dumped near the river side in Essau, a suburb in the North Bank Region.
According to sources, the baby was found by one Makam Maka S. Subah, a native of Essau who is said to have found it under the mangrove near the river.
The sources further said that Police in Barra have arrested a woman believed to be a native of Mbollet Bah, a nearby village as the prime suspect.
