Holland registered charity Football 4 Gambia has been busy touching base with people and places they will cover.
Founded recently Football 4 Gambia’s objective is to promote grassroots football but has also included delivering assistance to less privileged people including widows and orphans.
“We have identified three communities Keneba, Jatta-ba and Dumbuto in Kiang West and Bondali in Foni. In all these villages we are sponsoring 4-orphaned students and 2 widows,” said Omar Sise, chairman of the group. Sise who is also the Gambia national Under-23 coach said the objective is to extend the programme after the grand launching in September to other parts of the country in the near future. Mr Sise works with a team comprising Patric Van Yperm, Ronald Bonte, Alfusainey Ceesay and Thomas Giest as co-founders. football 4 Gambia will also support and equip the school teams of the selected communities.
