Gambia to play Morocco on October 12

Yesterday The Standard learnt that the Moroccans have agreed to fly a 25 man squad from Banjul to play on that Fifa date for international matches.

The match will mark the return of the Scorpions who are eagerly hoping for the lifting of the Caf ban to enable the country to get back into the fold in African and Fifa competitive matches. Though the country cannot take part in current continental championships, it is widely expected that friendly matches will fill the void of hopelessness that hit fans over the Caf suspension.

With coach Peter Bonu Johnson’s contract discontinued, it is not immediately clear who will coach the team in North Africa.
