The Gambia Football Federation has announced that a planned friendly against Cape Verde for the female national team will not take place after all. A statement from the GFF said the cancellation was requested by the Cape Verdeans who said it is due to technical reasons beyond their control. ‘The GFF therefore informs the general public that the date set aside for the friendly August 26th is now called off and sincerely apologises to the general public for the inconveniences this change of schedule might have caused.
Nonetheless the GFF is at advance stages with potential match for an alternative friendly notably with Guinea Bissau for the female National team later in September.The warm up for the female team is to prepare them for their eventual continental qualifiers in 2018 where the Gambia is expected to take part actively’.
