Members of the Executive Committee of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) held an extra-ordinary Executive Committee meeting on Sunday November 12th 2017 with the ongoing impasse between the Federation and the National Sports Council the only agenda of the said meeting.The meeting was attended by the President and his Vice President as well as other Executive Committee members and the Presidents of all the Regional Football Associations.
The meeting unanimously endorsed the position of the Federation and the members of the Executive Committee came up with the following resolutions:Ø That its position on the proposed investigation of its internal matters initiated by the National Sports Council (NSC) remains unchanged. Ø That the GFF remains resolute on its decision not to recognise and its refusal to cooperate in any investigation conducted by the NSC or any entity set up by the Council in this matter based on their lack of legal mandate.Ø That without an iota of ambiguity, the Federation or members of the Executive Committee does not accept the suspension and will not abide by their directive to suspend its President or any member(s) of the GFF executive or co-opted member.Ø That the Regional Football Association Presidents also reaffirmed that the National Sports Council do not have any mandate to investigate their affairs because they do not fall under their purview but rather that of The Gambia Football Federation.Ø That the Regional FA Presidents also reported that they did not receive any single petition from any of their members, up until today, but rather the regional sports coordinators, who are working for the interest of their opponents, cooked things up for their interests.Source: GFF
