The released officials are GFF president Mustapha Kebbeh and his three vice presidents, Buba Janneh, Kebba Touray and Basirou Bajo, co-opted executive members Borry Darboe and Lamin Camara as well as secretary general Abass Bah, NSC executive director Abdul Aziz Titao Mendy and NSC programme director for national associations Ebou Secka.

But NSC deputy executive director and former acting secretary general of the GFF Marcel Mendy and GFF administrative secretary Baboucar Jobe also known as ‘Pa Sulay’, are yet to be granted bail by police at the major crime unit, police headquarters, Banjul.

The officials spent a week in detention as police probed the circumstances that led to The Gambia fielding over-aged players in the Caf Under-20 championship, which in turn led to the total suspension of the country from all Caf competition for two years.

Neither the police nor the released officials were forthcoming for comment on the matter over the weekend.

However, The Standard can confirm that the men were charged with negligence of official duty and were asked to report to the police this morning as a condition of their bail.
