Gambian athletes Gina Bass and Ebrima Camara are intensifying their training ahead of the 2019 IAAF World Athletic Championship in Doha, Qatar in few weeks time.
The duo is currently in a training camp at IAAF high performance center in Dakar preparing for the championship.
“We are working extra hard to double up our fitness and strength,” says Bass adding that she is very much optimistic about another podium finish for Gambia in the 200meters as she had done at the recent African Games .
In Qatar, Bass and Camara are expected to face stiff challenges from some of the world’s finest in the 100 and 200meters sprint runs but24-year-old Gina Bass is hopeful to break the athletics glass ceiling.
The World Athletics Championship runs begin from September 27 to October 6 .
