The Gambia National Olympic Committee will on Saturday join the Olympic Movement to celebrate the 69th Olympic Day.
According to a statement from the GNOC, the celebration will be held over a three-day period from the 21st to 23rd June 2018 in the form of a Basketball, and Handball competitions among schools as well as a Quiz.
There will also be the usual Road race from Mile 2 and the Atlas Filling Station ending at the Olympic House on Bertil Harding Highway where dignitaries are expected to sit and watch the finishing of the race.
Olympic Day is much more than just a sports event, it is a day for the world to get active, learn about Olympic values and discover new sports. Olympic Day brings together people from all over the world to celebrate the Olympic Values. The event encourages young people to participate in sport and lead active and healthy lives.

Basketball, Handball Inter Schools Competitions respectively for Senior and Upper Basic Schools; and Tug-of-War for lower Basic Schools to be held at the Olympafrica Center – (9:00am onwards)
