GT Bank gives over D400, 000 to SOS, Bundung hospital

As part of their corporate social responsibility, Guaranty Trust Bank Gambia yesterday presented cheques of US $5,000.00 to SOS Children’s Villages and D200, 000 to the Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital, respectively, at a ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters on Kairaba Avenue.
The gestures are meant to support and complement the two institutions in providing shelter, food and maternal health care deliveries for children.

The managing director, Guaranty Trust Bank Gambia Adesina Adebesin, said at the presentation ceremony that GT Bank believes that every child should live in a proper home, have access to decent education and enjoy health care services which are some of the most important factors that would ensure a good future for them.

He said that is why the bank complements the efforts of organizations that support children like SOS the Gambia and Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital.
MD Adebesin expressed appreciation to the management of the beneficiary organisations for the opportunity to partner GTBank in serving the community and humanity at large. .

The country director of SOS Children’s Villages of The Gambia Mrs. Mariatou Sallah said the financial support will go a long way in covering the costs of the children’s feeding, clothing, tuition fees, medical and support for the mothers who care for the children.
She said the SOS Children’s Villages have been around for 36 years providing parental care for hundreds of vulnerable children who have lost parental care and those at the risk of losing it in its villages in Bakoteh and Basse.

”We are indeed grateful to your institution for the tireless efforts in providing a better and loving home for the needy and vulnerable children in the Gambia,” she said.
The Vice Chairman Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital Board Mrs Therese Drammeh ‘sincerely thanked the GT Bank’ for being a constant benefactor to the Bundung hospital since the inception of their partnership some four years ago.
