Ansumana Jarju and Alfusainey Jatta pleaded not guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit felony and robbery before Justice Uduma.
They are accused of robbing Guaranty Trust Bank of D410,120 while armed with a gun on September 5 at its branch in Bakau. The two were first arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates Court before Magistrate Tabally in the same month but the case was transferred to the high court after the chief prosecutor SH Barkun applied to the court to transfer the case to the special criminal division which has the jurisdiction to preside over cases attracting the death penalty.
The accused were represented by Lamin Camara when they appeared in court yesterday. The case has been adjourned to November 27.
