Yankuba Jabbi and his associate Jarrai Gassama have had D16.339.651.71 plus the interest accrued over the years lodged in their Standard Bank account forfeited to the State.
The forfeiture was ordered by Justice Zainab Jawara-Alami of the High Court.
The Judge also ordered that the Standard Chartered Bank (Gambia) Ltd make a full disclosure of an account number 0150142788600 and the balance therein by one Yankuba and Jarrai to the State (Attorney General).
Justice Alami’s decision came in a ruling premised on an originating summons filed by the Attorney General in the criminal case involving the State against Yankuba Jabbi.
Jabbi was convicted of conspiracy to commit felony and an attempt to commit money laundering whilst the court also found that the sum of D16.339.651.71 was proceed of crime.
