The national agro-business and tourism trade fair organised by Gambia Youth Chamber of Commerce, GYCC, in partnership with the youth empowerment Project, YEP, is under way at the Independence Stadium.
The fair which started on October 28 will run until the 4th of November, featuring 150 exhibitors.
Bubacarr Kebbeh, Chief executive officer of the GYCC speaking at the opening ceremony, said youths should be confident to take ownership of their own country by going into entrepreneurship. He said when that is done, Gambians will take advantage of all opportunities that come with entrepreneurship.
Kebba Jarjue, project director at FASDEP who also spoke at the ceremony, said the objective of this initiative is to reduce rural household poverty, through the efficient use of arable land and water resources for agricultural production and productivity.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Trade, Amadou Sanneh and that of Youth and Sports Hadrammeh Sidibeh.
