Yaya Tamba, the first deputy chairperson of the APRC No-To-Alliance Movement, now working with GDC, has said the faction of the party supporting President Barrow are betrayers who wanted to mortgage the party to Barrow for money.

Tamba was speaking to The Standard in Nioro Tukulor on the sidelines of a campaign rally in Saloum.

He said the faction led by Fabakary Tombong Jatta abused the trust given to them by Jammeh in whose absence they wanted to sell the party to Barrow for their own interest. ”I think even Barrow made it known at Sukuta recently that Fabakary has been seeing him secretly since 2017. So, it is clear that Fabakary would be meeting Barrow secretly and publicly he would describe Barrow as the ‘number one’ enemy of APRC. Fabakary had always denied that time that he was seeing Barrow and now Barrow himself has exposed him,” Tamba said.

He warned that no one should trust politicians like Fabakary Tombong Jatta and his cohorts.

Mr Tamba then turned to accuse President Barrow of taking the country to near collapse. “All the sectors left in good shape by Jammeh have collapsed.

I don’t expect Gambians to make the mistake of voting for Adama Barrow again. You cannot compare Jammeh’s government with that of Barrow; they are like day and night,” he said.

Mr Tamba also accused the Barrow government of mortgaging the country to Senegal. “Senegal never dared to intrude the security of the Gambia during Jammeh’s regime, but now Senegalese have dominated Gambia’s security sector thanks to President Barrow’s government,” Tamba lamented.

He concluded that Barrow is not able to protect the Gambians anymore.

Tamba called on Gambians to vote for Mamma Kandeh to regain The Gambia “we all desire”.
