Gambian duo Demba Savage and Ousman Jallow helped HJK Helsinki to overturn a first leg deficit to progress to the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round.
The Finnish champions beat Welsh Premier League club Connah’s Quay Nomads 3-0 on Thursday night in Helsinki to advance 3-1 overall.
Winger Savage lasted the entire duration while striker Jallow, who was given a starting berth, came off in the 86th minute.
HJK will now face Macedonian side KF Shkëndija in the second qualifying round with the first leg taking place in the Balkan peninsula of Southeast Europe.
Elsewhere, midfielder Ebrima Sohna’s Vaasan Palloseura also progressed to the next round after a 1-0 win at Slovenian club NK Olimpija Ljubljana.
The Scorpions midfield maestro was introduced in the 46th minute as the team held on to advance 2-0 on aggregate.
VPS will face a tough task in the next round as they visit Danish Superliga club Brøndby IF.
