By Kebba Camara Habsana Jallow, APRC NAM for Nianija in the current parliament who quit the APRC to contest on PDOIS ticket has described his rival Seedy Njie of the APRC as a joke who has no relevance in Nianija. “Mr Njie is talking about projects brought by the APRC in this constituency. I think he should be honest enough to recognize that I was the member of parliament and therefore more informed than him about those projects,” she said. She said all the projects were implemented through her own initiative and networking. “I don’t think he can fool people with my own achievements,” she said. She added: “You see there is one simple policy in Nianija: people here don’t work with opposition parties. The APRC is an opposition party now and has no chance. Period.” “The question he should answer is what he has brought here in all the ten years he was nominated MP.” She also clarified that she was the one who decided to resign from the APRC and chose PDOIS. “I was never expelled. I left by myself,” she said. Habsana further spoke of her relentless efforts to get former President Jammeh to consider building the road network in the constituency. “But you know the man, no one can force him, but I personally and several times told him that our road condition is very bad,” she said. Mrs Jallow urged politicians to be truthful at all times and be honest to the people. She vowed to retain her seat against ‘incompetent’ candidates like Seedy Njie.]]>
