SEMIS IN WAFU TODAY Gambia faces destiny against Ivory Coast

The Wafu Under-20 championship gets into the crunches this evening with the semi finals taking place at the Samuel K. Doe Stadium.
The Gambia Young Scorpions will take on Ivory Coast who topped their Group with scintillating performance including an empathic victory over host Liberia who will meet Mali.

The make or break encounter is clearly coach Mattar Bogey’s most important assignment in his career so far. Having tested all his players in the group stages, Mboge will have to find a formula to beat Ivory Coast tonight and reach the final with all its glory and gloss. He said in Monrovia that he shared his enthusiasm with his boys who have grown in confidence each match but if they can make this evening’s task a possibility, the Young Scorpions do themselves a great service.

Meanwhile, after their qualification to the semi final the Young Scorpions are said to be in high spirit and have now raised their ambition by aiming for the trophy. “Our brief encounter with president George Weah has motivated and encouraged the team” said General Lang Tombong Tamba, head of delegation. The match will kick off at 4pm GMT.
