The staff of Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation have called off their strike.
According to sources, the staff strike ended yesterday afternoon after a successful meeting at State House between staff representatives and the authorities.
Sources said the staff petition against the managing director will be subjected to an independent arbitrator whose recommendations will be implemented to end the impasse.
The strike, which is said to have been costing the corporation millions a day, came after the staff felt that their petition has not been taken seriously by the new board chairman who was expected to resolve the dispute between them and managing director Mohammed Manjang.
