Alagie Sanneh, a student of Bottrop Senior Secondary School is standing trial at the Magistrates court in Brikama for allegedly breaking into the office of the cashier at the school, stealing D249, 415, 00 and buying a C Class Benz.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
When the case was called Friday, Detective Cpl 3457 told the court that during the course of their investigations, the accused had confessed that he broke into the office of the cashier and stole the money and went to Senegambia to buy a C class Benz, for D187, 000.
According to the policeman, the vehicle is recovered and currently parked at Brikama Police Station.
He further alleged that the accused also confessed spending D7000 to paint the car into a taxi color.
Meanwhile, the trial Magistrate O Mendy adjourned the case to 24 June for another prosecution witness to testify.
Sgt 3533 Bobo Jarju appeared for the the IGP, while the accused was unrepresented.
