Swedish MPs arrive on fact-finding visit

Two Swedish parliamentarians from the Committee of Foreign Affairs (CFA,on Friday arrived in Banjul in a bid to scout out ways of contributing to The Gambia’s development through Swedish donor agency, SIDA.
The delegation is expected to meet the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs next week among other government officials and members of the Civil Society and politicians.

Speaking to journalists upon arrival at the Banjul International Airport, Ms Maria Anderson Willner who headed the delegation, said the aim of their mission was to discuss human rights, ways of strengthening democracy and how to be able to deliver development to the people of The Gambia.
On their expectations, Ms Willner said they looked forward to discussing issues of transparency, gender, civil society among others with officials of the New Government.
