Ten wrestlers – two from each of the five categories on offer – will be selected from each of the seven regions after a preliminary intra-regional championship. This is expected to produce 70 wrestlers from now against October 17 when the semi-finals will take place.
According to Pa Faye, head of the sports sub-commitee of the national organising committee of the July 22 anniversary celebrations, the 70 wrestlers will contest in pairs according to their categories in the semi-finals which will produce 35 successful men who will be taken to the finals in Kanilai on October 19.
He said all expenses including accommodation, feeding and transportation for the semi-finalists and finalists will be taken care of by the NOC.
