Preparations are at an advanced stage for an exciting wrestling combat between The Gambia’s African Noir and Senegal’s Double Tyson.
The combat organised by Burr Touray Promotion will be staged at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on 7 April
Wrestling is becoming the fastest growing sports amid the poor show in football. The combat is expected to attract thousands of spectators.
Burr Touray told this medium in an interview that, he is proud to return to wrestling promotion as part of his many contributions to the development of the sport.
“Helping the country is helping the pesident and people supporting him. There will be a total of 10 combats on that night,” he revealed.
Touray used the interview to call on Gambians and Senegalese residing in the country to turn out on the day of the wrestling to show solidarity.
Wrestling, he said, is a port that can greatly reduce the number of young people embarking on illegal migration and is a creator of jobs for the youths. “Aside from that, the wrestling contest will indirectly impact on the economic gains of petty traders who also looks forward to such events,” he said.
The promoter called for sponsors to patronise the event.
