Badou Jack has been in many high profile fights over the course of his career and has been a world champion twice.

He will fight for a World title in a third weight class against former Tony Bellew opponent Ilunga Makabu on February 26, 2023. But what do we know about Jack and his career?

Badou Jack is a professional boxer, born in October 1983.

He has been a World Champion in two weight classes, holding the WBC Super-Middleweight title from 2015 to 2017 and the WBA Light-Heavyweight title in 2017.

He is set to fight for a World Championship in a third weight class, when he takes on Ilunga Makabu on the undercard of Jake Paul v Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia on February 26, 2023.

Jack has had some high profile fights against British boxers, including George Groves and James Degale.

What is Badou Jack’s boxing record?

A professional since 2009, Jack holds a record of 27 wins, three losses and three draws from his 33 fights to this point.

He first came to global attention by winning the WBC Super-Middleweight title against Anthony Dirrell in 2015.

He defended the title successfully three times, including a close decision victory against George Groves in Las Vegas, and a draw against James Degale in a unification bout.

Jack vacated the WBC title in 2017, and fought Welshman Nathan Cleverly on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather v Conor Mcgregor for the WBA ‘regular’ Light-Heavyweight title.

Jack won by fifth round technical knockout, and was soon promoted to full champion after the retirement of Andre Ward.

However, he soon vacated in order to chase bigger money fights.

A close draw with long-time WBC Light-Heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson was followed by two consecutive losses against Marcus Browne and Jean Pascal.

The Browne fight was notable for a horrific cut suffered to Jack’s forehead in round seven but continued to the final bell.

He has since won five consecutive fights, to set up a title shot at cruiserweight against Makabu.

Jack has been married to wife Yasmin since October 2014.

Their first child, a daughter named Malaniyah, was born on April 14 2016.

Their second, a son named Malik, was born on March 16, 2018.

Formerly promoted by Mayweather promotions, Jack is thought to have a net worth of $1million.

He has earned high purses over the course of his career, including $700,000 from his fight with Degale, and $750,000 from his fight against Cleverly.
