At the request of Caf, the Cameroon Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has agreed to postpone the Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 final draw for logistical reasons related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The draw was initially scheduled for 25 June 2021 and according to Caf a new date will be announced in due course.

“CAF continues to work together with its partners, the Cameroon government and the LOC with the objective of making the Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 a successful event and a great celebration of African football,” a statement from Caf said yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Gambia national team, the Scorpions over the weekend started a training camp in Turkey with a solid 2-0 victory over Niger. Muhammed Badamosi and Abdoulie Jallow scored the two goals that continued to give Coach Tom Saintfiet and fans back home reason to believe that the Gambia’s maiden appearance in the Afcon is not a fluke. The coach also used new comers to the squad as he scouts more players with Gambian heritage eligible to and willing to play for the country in this important assignment next January.
