The dramatic story of Kombo East continues in this year’s Super Nawettan with another giant killing performance that shot them to their first final in their second appearance.
Last night was always expected to be a cracking semifinal with Brikama aiming to finally tame the glory seekers from the East but in the end though, the Sateyba Boys got more than they bargained for. They were roundly beaten by two clear goals without reply, a rare humiliation of the West Coast giants that will take a long time to soothe.
Kombo East have now turned themselves into conquerors having completed the journey this far in spectacular fashion.
They now have one more war of conquest, against Serekunda West on Saturday when the two square up for the final of this expanded Super Nawettan at the Independence Stadium.
Serekunda West officials and fans have initially wished Kombo East beat Brikama in the semis but they could be regretting the positive outcome of their prayers because Kombo East have proven to be potentially a much stiffer opposition in the final Saturday.
Will this ever shinning team add Serekunda West to their victims’ list or have they actually now reached their waterloo?
