FSG Academy based in Holland can now be accessed by prospective Gambian sports clubs or individual sportsmen and women wishing to undergo training at their facility.
Paul Joof founder and director of the famous Songdehs Academy disclosed this to The Standard yesterday, adding that this development could bring about much needed training opportunities for Gambians. The FSG Academy supports student-athletes in every area of their development to become an excellent athletes through its quality sports and academics in combination with dedicated teachers and trainers that guarantee an environment in which the student-athlete can excel.
The FSG Academy hosts 14 main sport programs. All top sports programs are tailor made for each individual or team and provides boarding and hotel facilities. It also offers international educational programs from secondary 1 to masters studies, and it organizes sports camps and team training camps.
Meanwhile according to Mr Joof, a similar organization, United Sports America based in Scotland UK, also offers scholarships for sportsmen and women. “The body collects profiles including videos of players or athletes for prospective scouting by its 2000 affiliated colleges,” he said.
He said being the representative of this body too, he would encourage Gambians to enroll in their programmes for training and other opportunities ofor professional career in sports.
