A teenager has been stabbed and killed with a broken bottle in the community of Bakau Wasulung Kunda last Thursday night, residents confirmed to The Standard.
Babucarr Krubally, 18, of Mamakoto, died from his wounds as he was being rushed to the Bakau Health Centre, residents told The Standard.
The teenager was discovered by one Adama Manneh, a resident of the community, who told The Standard: “He was just lying there and gasping for breath. He was bleeding near the heart and I tried to cover his wounds with a cloth.”
Meanwhile, police including CID officers stormed the community early Friday morning and combed the crime scene, investigating from members of the community. As we went to press one Sainey Kanteh, aka Nyagho, has been arrested and being detained by police in Bakau on suspicion that heBabucarr as he tried to run away from him.
It is not immediately known if he has been charged. Police spokesman ASP Lamin Njie told The Standard over the weekend that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect stabbed the victim with a broken bottle resulting in his death.
