“We are in the process of finalising the process to get these coaches in place at the soonest possible time,” said GFF third vice president Martin Gomez in confirming the news.
On the crucial position of national team coach, Gomez said that the initial position was for the GFF to search a suitable one for submission to government ”But we are getting hints that government is looking at other avenues of getting one through technical cooperation with friendly countries. But that position too is very crucial and we at the GFF shall continue to engage government on the matter”, Gomez said. The Gambia national teams have been without coaches since the Caf suspension but months after it was lifted none of the teams have got a fully fledged, officially appointed coach prompting fans to ask for explanations.
