Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the GFF first vice president, Abdoulie Jallow, revealed that as promised in their election manifesto, they will support and develop female football, hence the provision of football boots for all the twelve female teams.
He further revealed that the 1060 balls being distributed were provided by Fifa and are expected to last for four years.
He therefore advised the clubs to take good care of the balls.
Mr Jallow also urged the clubs, especially female clubs, to be disciplined to ensure success.
Bakary Jammeh, an executive member of the GFF, explained that the 360 football boots given to the female teams are from the GFF itself and that each team shall get 30 pairs.
He also revealed that Fifa has placed strong emphasis on female football development by allocating a good portion of its FAP fund to it. “As an executive committee we wish to respect that to the maximum because our priority is to bring women football to higher heights in the country,” he said.
Other speakers included Martin Gomez, the third vice president of the GFF.
