The Gambia Transport Services Company (GTSC), Wednesday 16th May bestowed office equipment worth twenty-eight thousand dalasis to the Gambia Immigration Department Giboro Border Post at a ceremony held at GTSC grounds in Kanifing.
The equipment included 2 executive chairs, 2 visitors’ chairs, 1 filling cabin and 1 executive desk.
Speaking at the handing over, Raymond Ceesay, Deputy General Manager at GTSC revealed that this is a sign of appreciation because their buses pass through the borders.
He said the immigration team is there to help and that includes GTSC staff operating the buses crossing the border.
He said the gesture would create a working relationship between them and the immigration staff at the post.
“If other institutions emulate us it would put less pressure on government and also will help you people get facilities much quicker and much better,” he said.
He thanked the Immigration Officers for accepting the gesture.
For his part, Supt. Bakary Jobe, Commander-in-Charge at the Giboro Border Post expressed appreciation to GTSC, adding it came at the right time.
He said the immigration officers have a good relationship with the GTSC customers.
“At times they leave their offices to go all the way to Seliti to assist the passengers with the problem they encounter on their way to Bissau,” he said.
He thanked the GTSC Management for its commitment to deepen its collaboration and technical support to the Gambia Immigration Department.
