The Gambian football title was decided last night with Hawks FC winning it with a game to spare. The team that was struggling for survival only last year returned to rule national football in dramatic fashion beating Armed Forces 3-1 while their nearer title rival Real could only manage a draw against Gamtel.
Last night’s results leave Hawks with an unassailable 6 points lead with only one match to go for all teams.
It is the third title for the team, one of the oldest in the league. They first won it in 1993 and 1996.
