Unlike fellow disqualified candidate Seedy Kinteh who issued a statement condemning the move, Kebbeh took a first step towards taking legal action by instructing his lawyer Ida Drameh to write to the NC, demanding that the body meets certain conditions or face a legal suit, impeccable sources told The Standard.
According to our source, the letter from Miss Drameh requested the NC to retract certain statements given as reasons for his disqualification which he deemed borders on impairing his image among other things. It is reported that Kebbeh also requested for the lifting of the ban on his candidature. Failing these, the letter stated that a legal suit could be filed against them.
Contacted for comments, NC vice chairman and spokesman on election issues Ba Jabbie said the appropriate department of the NC, that is the legal advisory, will respond accordingly declining to make further comments.
