Dear Editor,
For the past several days, everyday I open a copy my newspaper there is a frontpage story on Mr Abdoulie Suku Singhateh. As far as I know, he was a member of the Ecowas Parliament. He was an APRC National Assembly Member who voted to allow President Yahya Jammeh to declare a state of emergency after he lost the election in December 2016. He reportedly owed the Youth Development Enterprise of President Jammeh and Baba Jobe millions of dalasis. For some reason he joined the UDP after the victory of the coalition and got himself elected into the party’s executive.
I don’t think he is a political heavyweight as he could not stop Yahya Jammeh losing with some 900 votes against Adama Barrow’s 4,000 votes in his native Lower Baddibu in the 2016 presidential election. Now going by reports he seemed to have become dissatisfied with the UDP and is toying with joining the National People’s Party of President Barrow for whatever reason.
What is so special about him to merit him being given a front page in your reputable newspaper? You should tell your readers why he is so important otherwise, write about the shortage of cabbages in Ballanghar.
