Man gets 10 years for drug trafficking

By Amadou Jadama

Senior Magistrate Fatou Darboe of the Brikama  court on Thursday convicted and sentenced one Ansumana Manneh to a fine of one million dalasi and additional ten years imprisonment for drug trafficking.

Magistrate Darboe further ordered that the six bundles of cannabis should be forfeited to the State. The destruction shall be effective after the expiration of 30 days in order not to jeopardise any potential appeal.

Mr Manneh was arraigned on 16 December on a charge of possession of prohibited drugs for the purpose of drug trafficking, which he denied.

Sanna Camara was the prosecuting officer for DLEAG.
