MDI, GTTI to become universities?

Reliable sources at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology have revealed that plans are afoot to upgrade Gambia Technical Training Institute and Management Development Institute into full-fledged universities.

According to our sources, MoHERST is planning to table a bill before lawmakers that will see both MDI and GTTI become universities to reduce the burden on the University of The Gambia which enrols hundreds of students every year.

The higher education bill is being validated by education stakeholders at the Paradise Suites Hotel, following which it will be tabled.
Meanwhile, our sources have revealed that MoHERST is also planning to merge the Gambia College with the University of The Gambia.
