Medina United Football Academy of Lamin on Saturday launched its female academy programme. The ceremony also marked the beginning of its partnership with Capelli Sport, an American sportswear and footwear company based in New York, United States,
The programme took place at the National Technical Traning Center Yundum and was graced by the the attendance of Sports Minister Bakary Badjie accompanied by the executive secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Marcel Mendy.
The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) was also represented by second vice president Ebou Faye and technical director Sang Ndong.
The girls from Nema Secondary School beat St. Josephs 2-0 in a thriller. Both teams were dressed in Capelli uniforms with Nema School surprised the founders of the Academy brothers (Tijan and Mike with the picture of their late mother Mammie Chapman blasted on the chest of their jersey).
