Sutay Jammeh, the deputy national chairman of the biggest splinter group of the National Convention Party, has called on President Adama Barrow to declare two days of national mourning to sympathise with the victims of former president Yahya Jammeh in the wake of the chilling revelations by the Junglers.

Speaking to The Standard yesterday, Mr Sanyang said the Junglers’ testimonies have provided the most authentic confirmation of horrors of the Jammeh regime and traumatized the families of the victims even more.

“It is very disheartening the way and manner our people were killed by the junglers under the command of Yahya Jammeh.

That is why I am calling on Barrow to consider a national mourning for these mass murders of people by Jammeh”, he said.

Sanyang further urged Barrow to distance himself from anyone close to the former President or who may have enabled him to commit crimes against the Gambian people.

“He must start from his cabinet right down.

There are Jammeh enablers all over,” he said.

Sanyang further stressed that the much talked about Security Sector Reform is important but there is a need even to reform the cabinet itself.
