The Minister of Justice, Abubacarr Tambadou has said that the sacking of former agriculture minister Omar Jallow has nothing to do with the fertilizer scandal.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, the minister told journalists that the removal of OJ cannot have anything to do with the fertilizer scandal because AG’s office has not made any recommendation on the matter yet.
“But, I can confirm to you that the office of the president did send a report prepared by panels of investigators into allegations of the unlawful disposure of fertilizer allegedly by officials of the agriculture ministry and a certain Mr Dibba.
“It has been a few months since they sent the file to us but we are not treating it any differently from any other case. My ministry is very overwhelmed as we are dealing with lot of cases and it is going through the office’s usual process and we will not treat it any exceptional way…So the matter is still under review by our ministry,” he said.
