“Rather this committee is set up to complement and boost the overall development projects of Bakau, be they sports or youths and it has nothing to do with the running of the sports committee,” he said.
Pa Faye also revealed that the new body will work-hand-in-glove with the Bakau Sports Committee in pursuit of the overall development objectives to ensure that the set targets are transparently and more efficiently attained. “It will not duplicate their role or undermine them,” he said.
According to Mr Faye, the new committee has been able to attract and mobilise prominent Bakau citizens as members such as the alkalo as chairman, the two councilors and the MP among others as members. “There is also a board comprising people like Sosseh Colley, Lamin Tongi Sanyang among others as members,” he said. Mr Faye noted that there are lot of development issues in Bakau and the new body is hoping to play a key role in seeking a solution to these through complementing and collaborating with all partners.
