French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais have taken Gambian league top-scorer Mustapha Drammeh on a two-week trial, it has been revealed.
The Bombada FC striker is currently with the U19 team of the Red and Blacks and recently featured in their 1-0 friendly win over FC Nantes in Mouzillon last weekend.
He is one of two players currently on trial at the two-time French league and cup champions.
Drammeh, who recently featured in Gambia’s CHAN team, equaled Modou Njie Sarr’s long standing all-time league scoring record to finish last season on 15 goals and 20 altogether, a feat that ensured the Brikama-based club maintained their status in the top-flight.
Should he impress coach Christian Gourcuff and his coaching staff, he will add up the numbers of Gambians with top-flight clubs after Alieu Jatta and Ablie Jallow, who are on the books of FC Metz.
