On Saturday, February 13th 2021, Save The Future Foundation, STFF, held its official launch at the regional office in Brikama
The non-profit organization organized the launch under the theme: “Bids against hunger and restoring smiles on the faces of orphans, widows and differently abled people in The Gambia.”
The event was graced with the presence of stakeholders and organization leaders that have similar ambition in helping the vulnerable.
Kemo Fatty, regional coordinator for Global Youth Parliament West Coast Region, talked about ethical leadership and the importance of youths in national development.
“The youths play a vital role in society as it is their potentials that can translate their commitments into actionable programs. But this program cannot be implemented at their (youths) own communal levels but a collective responsibility.
“Ethical leadership cannot be implemented without integrity and honesty as those are the two-driving forces for good leadership quality,” he noted.
John Charles Njie, chairman of Tango, talked about the role of youths in national development, saying the future looks promising for The Gambia as youths are contributing to national development. “Our young people are beginning to take their destiny in their hands, and beginning to dictate and direct the affairs of their nation. And for this, I am hopeful.”
Salimatou Fatty, founder of STFF, said rendering humanitarian service is not only meant for vulnerable people but to her it’s any help you offer to your fellow humans.
“However, there is a misperception attributed to it as some people think offering humanitarian service is a way to enrich oneself.”
